The Year of the Rat in Chinese Astrology begins on February 7, 2008. The Rat year is a time of plenty, bringing abundance and good fortune. This year people are firm about their goals and it favors the ”opportunist”. If there is something you always wanted to do, but never found the opportunity to do it, this is the year to follow your dream. Although there may be fluctuation in the world economy, it is an excellent time to start a business, buy property and accumulate wealth. All ventures begun in the Rat year will prosper if you are well prepared and practice follow-though. Socialize and enjoy yourself but watch out for bickering, bargaining and petty arguments.

Rat (1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008) (John McCain & Prince
Charles) Known for their charm, Rats are opportunists who live off their wits more than hard labor. There will be a career boost and people will seek out their expertise this year. They may push their luck a little to far this hear and gain a lesson in humility.

Ox (1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009) Oxen are solid, dependable and have cast iron integrity. This will be a good year with plenty of opportunity and previous troubles will fade away. There will be a reunion with old friends this year. (Tyra Banks and Barack Obama)

Tiger (1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010) Tigers like to be in charge. Always asserting themselves, they take center stage. This is a challenging year for the Tiger. They should avoid compulsive temptations and put some money away for a rainy day. (Kirstie Alley and Ryan Seacrest)

Rabbit (1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011) Streetwise and shrewd, Rabbits are very intuitive and possess an ability to see things before they happen. This is a calm year and there is time to take care of deep emotional issues. Make plans for the future and buy property. Look out for false friends! (Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt)

Dragon (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2012) Dragons like to be in charge and often find themselves in high positions. They are the luckiest of the 12 signs and good fortune always follows them. Snake (1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013) Snakes have a lot of charm and charisma. They are also psychic, philosophical and shrewd with business matters. Many have a talent for playing a musical instrument. This year they will be at the right place at the right time for a windfall. There will be challenges and watch out for sudden change! Horse (1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014) Horses are high spirited and lively. They can juggle many things at the same time and use their hunches to skillfully handle money. The Rat year is challenging for the Horse and they should try to avoid clashes. Carry a Moonstone for protection and good luck this year. Do not lend or borrow money. Sheep (1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015) Sheep have a strong herding instinct and do better when part of a group. Fortune favors them and most Sheep live a charmed life. They are the most feminine of all the signs and are gifted in the arts and crafts. There is a new romance this year or a current one will deepen. Sheep work best behind the scenes this year. Monkey (1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016) Monkeys read people like books and can spot their soft spots a mile a way. They have intellectual brilliance and can pick up a new skill or technique quickly. They take much joy in problem solving. Rooster (1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017) Roosters have powerful personalities and like to stand strong on their own two feet. Dog (1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018) Dogs are caretakers and born to serve others. They are solid steady workers who put a lot of effort into their projects. Sometimes it is hard for them to face the unknown and start all over again. It is a fortunate year for the dog, but they should avoid lending money. Boar (1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019) It is easy for Pigs to make friends and they hold on to many for life. They love food and parties and are the best cooks of all the Chinese signs. This is a year of uncertainty for the Pig and they may lose something they presumed they gained.
